Sunday was my first semi-serious ride on the new FJR. There are a couple things I learned that I didn't know when I woke up Sunday morning.
1) A 600 pound motorcycle with 140hp is easy to upset on sandy roads.
2) However, you butt puckering will suck the bike straight up and save you.
3) There's a finite number of kids on R1s and FZRs, etc that you can ignore at stop light races...that number is in fact 4.
4) Persuant to #3, shaft drive bikes, specifically the FJR, will wheelie on throttle only (no technique required).
5) Persuant to #4, the FJR does it a little too close to the redline.
6) When you're in an unintentional wheelie and you discover the FJR has a rev limiter, it'll bring the front end down in a hurry and you'll pucker again.
7) FJRs don't have automatic signal shutoff. Weird...my 90 FJ does.
8) FJRs are made out of magnets that attract other FJRs and anyone on one already thinks they know you.
9) 60 is smooth, 70 is a little buzzy, 80 is smooth and 100 is really smooth. Why on earth would they make a bike that behaves better at 100 than 70?
10) Those bar risers have to go...pushes my shoulders up. One of the FJRs I ran into this weekend is interested in buying them though.
