According to the yearly report by the Tax Foundation, today was tax freedom day in America, an unofficial day marking the day upon which, as a whole, the people of the United States are no longer working for their government - i.e. no longer working to pay their current year's taxes. In other words, from January 1st, 2005 until yesterday (April 17), we Americans had been working for our government. Starting today, we are now finally working for ourselves... woo hoo!!!
