Today's date is 6/6/2006. People are therefore freaking out about the idea that the date "equals" 6/6/6, or 666, the so called Number of the Beast mentioned in the book of Revelations in the Christian New Testament. So much so that some people yesterday were asking to be induced in labor to make sure their child wasn't born on this day.
Note, however, that this has happened twice in history already since the birth of Jesus. The most recent previous time was in the year 1006. The only other time was when Jesus himself was 6 years old...
